Paranoia

Paranoia 1, cropped

Just when I thought I had run out of stuff to write about, this happens. There is a crazy rumor going around that one of my close friends is a COP.

This raises alarms with me even if this is a hoax. The feds send agents posing as inmates to spy on us? Really? Apparently so, because I’ve heard about a group of prisoners running off a spy several years ago. The spy gave a code word to a particular guard, and out the door they went. He never showed his face on the compound again.

Now if any of this is true, then the government is pretty SICK. We’re already in prison, so could you just let us do our time in peace? I guess the feds are waiting for one of us to blab about what’s in the Big Mac’s secret sauce or something.

So whether the rumor’s true or not, this guy is in for a fair bit of trouble. People have stopped talking to him, and I can’t even go near him because of the guilt-by-association complex that’s prevalent in prison. If I hang out with someone who is thought to be a cop, then I must be a cop, too. Well, I wish I were. I’d just say “Rumpelstiltskin” to the first guard that I saw so that I could get the heck out of here.

I’ve heard from several people that doctors in the Psychology Department have said, on numerous occasions, that there are many planted agents in this prison. So why would they pick this prison and not some other more violent place like a penitentiary? “Because this prison houses a lot of s.o.’s” is the answer I’ve been getting. C.P. has replaced drugs as the fashionable crime of the era, and so the feds are trying their hardest to uncover more crimes and keep us here forever.

Think of the federal prison system as a business. The more prisoners the BOP has, the more money it makes. With the trend of new fairer sentencing laws for drug offenders, money is being lost by the BOP for all of the inmates that are being released early. So the BOP has to move on to a new target – sex offenders.

I know that a lot of this post is speculative, but I’ve been hearing things from way too many mouths. Inside most rumors is at least a seed of truth, and just like an apple seed, this one’s filled with poison.
